Bebras is the lithuanian word for beaver. The Bebras Challenge is a fun, electrifying computational thinking challenge for learners aged 6 to 19. Its an international challenge, open once a year in November. Currently, the Bebras Challenge takes place in over 60 countries worldwide with more than 3.5 million learners participating.
Are you ready??? Lets bring it to Namibia 😊
Any learner without prior knowledge of Computer Science can participate. The challenge is 45 minutes with a set of tasks for each age group. Bebras tasks are designed to give participants the opportunity to display their potential. The challenge can be done with computer/internet or also with pen and paper.
This prestigious challenge was founded in 2004 by Prof. Dr. Valentina Dagienė from the University of Vilnius (Lithuania) in honour of the beaver’s cooperative nature, intellect, fortitude, and strong work ethic.
Coordinated by the International Bebras committee, who meets annually to evaluate potential questions and share ideas for the challenge. Bebras Namibia commenced in 2024 and is delivered by Susanne Berchtold and her company (Berchtold Software Development and Training cc).
